Boarding Life

Situated in 148 acres of pristine British countryside, SABIS International School UK provides an environment in which students can form life-long friendships, cultivated in the exceptional surroundings of the SIS-UK campus. With access to excellent on-site facilities such as a football (soccer) pitch, squash court, gymnasium, indoor heated swimming pool and tennis courts, students are encouraged to pursue a range of interests outside the classroom.

SIS-UK students reside in single gender boarding houses in shared rooms based on age, class and academic strengths and weaknesses, as often, a room can make an ideal study group. Houseparents live in alongside students and provide a supportive, caring environment and are available 24 hours a day.

Various enrichment and shopping trips are organised at weekends and on occasional evenings. Activities and trips are organised for half term and at least once a year, an additional cultural enrichment trip is planned in the UK or to other European countries.

Induction of New Students

On arrival, new students will be met by the Registrar and/or another member of the administration, and their houseparent and/or prefect will take them to their allocated dormitories. They will be shown the rooms and introduced to their roommates, if present already. The prefect or houseparent will explain the facilities available and provide each new student with a copy of the school rules and daily schedule. Students are also given a key to their lockable wardrobe. During the evening before school starts, the pupils in each dormitory will have a meeting with their houseparent to go over timetables, school rules and will have the opportunity to ask any questions.
