FAQs

  • How is SIS-UK different from other schools?

While there are several factors that distinguish the SABIS International School UK (SIS-UK) from other schools, the world-renowned SABIS® Educational System is what sets SIS-UK apart from all other schools.  The dynamic SABIS® Educational System offers students a carefully planned, sequential, and rigorous curriculum that prepares students for a university education based on over 125+ years of success.

The SABIS® Educational System and other points of distinction tend to attract an extensive breadth and depth of students and families of different cultures, religions, languages and perspectives which fosters a diverse atmosphere that ultimately prepares students for global citizenship.

  • What makes SABIS International School UK "International?"

SABIS® is a worldwide network of schools founded in Lebanon in 1886.  The curriculum is based on international best practices and carefully structured to give students mastery of all the essential concepts in the core subjects of English, maths, the sciences, and world languages.  The curriculum is specifically designed to prepare students for universities all over the world.

At SIS-UK we actively seek a diverse range of applicants from different countries, cultures and backgrounds in order to provide a rich environment for growth and development.

  • Are there other SABIS International Schools in the UK?

The SABIS International School UK is the first SABIS® School in the UK; however, SABIS® Education Systems is currently forging links with charities and organisations wishing to establish Free Schools.

  • Is SIS-UK only for international students?

No. We welcome boarding students from within the UK as well as international applicants.  It is our aim to provide education for a changing world by providing a diverse environment that promotes growth and development for all students.
  • How many students are in a classroom?

At SIS-UK we stress group rather than individual instruction but focus on individual follow-up and attention through regular structured assessment and tutorials.  The SABIS® approach strongly relies on larger class groups to be most effective, an approach that can be effective through the dynamic SABIS® Educational System.
  • When is the Admissions deadline?

SIS-UK has an open enrolment admission policy.  As long as students meet the academic criteria, they are accepted throughout the school year.  Students are enrolled on a space-available basis.
