Application Process
CAMPUS TOUR
Interested families are encouraged to visit the School for a tour by appointment. The prospective family will have the opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings of the SIS-UK site through a personal tour and talk with our admissions staff. Appointments can be made through the Admissions Office at +44 1225 891 028 or admissions@sisuk-sabis.net.
APPLICATION
Applications are accepted year-round and students are enrolled on a space-available basis. To initiate the admissions process, the School must receive a completed enrolment application form (available here).
DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT
Once an application form is received, the Admissions Office will arrange for the appropriate diagnostic assessment. Prospective students sit diagnostic assessments in order for the School to identify the student’s level of prerequisite knowledge. Placement in a grade level/year is done based upon results of the diagnostic assessments.
Diagnostic assessments are arranged at various times in the application process and typically take place on campus; however, arrangements can also be made for alternative site testing as needed.
SCHOOL RECORDS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The School requests that parents and legal guardians of all applicants authorise the release of school records including transcripts, test results, and any psychological/neurological evaluations from the previous two academic years.
The School also requests a minimum of two recommendations from the prospective student’s previous or current school. It is the parent’s responsibility to provide the School with current School recommendations/references.
All recommendations will remain confidential and should be sent directly to the Admissions Office:

CONSULTATION
If the applicant is unable to visit the school, an interview will be arranged over the internet with the School Director in order to explore the applicant’s motivation, interests and English language ability. This is also the chance for applicants to ask any questions about SIS-UK.
DECISION ON APPLICANTS
Admission decisions are made after careful evaluation of candidates in order to determine the suitability of the SABIS International School UK and its programme of study for each candidate. The school will take into consideration the diagnostics assessment, previous school records, including transcripts and recommendations, and any face-to-face or online interaction with the candidate. Criteria for evaluation include motivation, social and emotional development, and the ability of the school to meet the needs of the candidate.
A place will be reserved for the applicant at the appropriate entry level subject to the applicant satisfying the School’s entrance requirements and space available in that grade level. Placement is determined by the student’s performance not necessarily age; students may be placed with others older or younger than themselves, but maintaining a maximum of 2 year age range in the same class. Throughout the application process, the School will be available to provide information, to discuss areas of concern and interest, and to respond appropriately to any requests parents may have.
