Grade 7-12

Curriculum

In addition to the core subjects of English, mathematics, and world languages such as Spanish and Chinese, SIS-UK curriculum is designed to provide knowledge of a broad range of subjects including science, social studies, art, music, health, physical education, and computing. It is designed to develop a balanced, well-rounded university-preparatory experience.

Ensuring students acquire the knowledge and skills to earn competitive leaving certificates upon graduation in Grade 12, SIS-UK begins its university preparation in Grade 7. Secondary students at SIS-UK work towards mastering academic content and developing skills in abstract reasoning and critical analysis, which are vital to the process of lifelong learning.

SIS-UK students are prepared for success in university and beyond. SIS-UK provides students in Grade 9 onwards with access to a knowledgeable team who are ready to engage in regular communication with both the students and their parents about university preparation. The path to university is tailored for each student's strengths, abilities and aspirations.

When SIS-UK students reach Grade 10, they begin International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) courses; thereafter, students may begin a two-year International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (pending approval). Other external examination programs offered at the school include the American Advanced Placement® programme.

Through the carefully tailored SABIS® curriculum, SIS-UK students are provided the knowledge, skills, and experiences to gain entry to and excel in the most demanding universities in the world. Past SABIS® graduates have been admitted to the world’s top universities including, Stanford University, MIT, LSE, University of Oxford, and Princeton University, among many others.
